Naturewatch Foundation - Advancing Animal Welfare

Giving Tuesday is just around the corner, and it’s a day when people and organisations from all over the world come together to support the causes and communities that mean so much to us all. We are asking everyone to get involved and help make the world a kinder place for animals.

As Giving Tuesday falls on December 3rd, we know that with Christmas just around the corner, it can be an expensive time of year and the idea of being able to donate regularly may not be an option for many.

Naturewatch Foundation strongly believes that not all help has to be financial and has come up with its own ‘Twelve Gifts of Christmas’ guide to charity giving and getting involved.

  • Give your time – volunteering is a fantastic way to support your local charity
  • Do what you love – use your hobby to fundraise. Raise donations and have fun too!
  • Give pre-loved items a new life – donating items to a shop or selling them yourself can raise vital funds for your charity.
  • Buy charity cards – make the switch and know every purchase will help your chosen cause.
  • Give a charity gift – instead of buying gifts for loved ones this year, donate to their chosen charity. We have a selection of e-cards from which you can choose.
  • Use e-shopping sites – these will donate whilst you shop at no extra cost to you.
  • Buy gifts from a charity’s online shop – there is a vast array of wonderful items out there. Take a look at the items in our online shop for some ideas.
  • Use Gift Aid – if you are a UK taxpayer, charities can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated and it doesn’t cost you a penny. Find out more about Gift Aid to see if you are eligible.
  • Recycle– raise funds for your charity and reduce landfill by recycling your empty ink cartridges, postage stamps and even jewellery.
  • Spread the word – sharing your charity’s posts to your social media network is a great way to spread their message.
  • Use your birthday – ask friends and family to donate to a charity instead of purchasing gifts.
  • Leave a legacy in your Will. Legacy gifts are vital to charities. Without them, charities like Naturewatch Foundation could not carry out our vital animal welfare work.

You can learn more about how to get involved in many of these activities on our Get Involved pages.
